Runbooks

Runbooks are a set of standardized procedures that are used to maintain the operations of a system. They are a set of instructions that are used to perform routine operations. Runbooks are used to ensure that the system is running smoothly and that any issues that arise are resolved quickly and efficiently. Ideally runbooks should be automated as much as possible, and should be kept up to date with the latest information about the system. If you find yourself referencing to a runbook often, it may be a good idea to automate it, or design a product feature to remove the need for the runbook.

Runbook Structure

Runbooks should be structured in a way that makes them easy to read and follow. They should be organized into sections that cover different aspects of the system. Each section should contain detailed instructions on how to perform a specific task. The runbook should also include information on how to troubleshoot common issues that may arise.
